Starting June 1st, SIP is
launching our first-ever Summer Boot Camp, "An Introduction to Creating
Best Wall Paintings." Paintings suitable for prime display spaces.
Seeing your work on the wall is
essential to understand what a “Best Wall Painting” means. It’s not
about peer credits, exhibits, or awards, though these are useful for
marketing.
The finishing touch - A proper frame
Lily Reverie by Joan Layne
Joan's original work is 48x36 oil on canvas
Shown to scale in the perfect room setting
Below in a much grander setting - could be larger....
Good news!
Joan's original has a professional digital capture!
Lily Reverie
Reborn to a grand 72x60 canvas size.
Size appropriate
The odds are against a painting
at the outset. We can make art all day long, but in the end, it has to
resonate with an unknown outsider to find a home or a wall. The size,
color, subject, price, and a long list of other factors on someone's
wish list have to quintessentially match up. Compromise is probably not
on the table.
In our last example, we had a viable alternative the original 48x36 oil painting. A high quality digital capture of Joan's lovely original oil painting was available. Flexible use of Joan's original painting and use of the 150 year copyright on her original works. Verisart certification and impeccable quality improves the chance of a compromise.
The summer program is an "introduction" because
mastering this skill is not something you can achieve in a day, a month, or perhaps
even a year. Typical short workshops lack the continuous format needed to keep
you focused on a single target.... Best Walls. SIP is a long-term
commitment to mastering a subject, or in this case, creating a "Best Wall
Painting".
Everyone knows what a boot camp is.... an exciting new adventure. Follow us
and join the journey. This summer, it’s all about creating "The Best
Wall Painting.
