The 4th holiday has found its place in history. I rather liked the big city view of fireworks (last post). I would love to accomplish that kind of visual action on canvas.... Not much question, digital art like this will dominate the future. It begs to ask the question are oil painters an endangered species?
Last years water plants didn't winter well. The hot summer sun would not be kind to our fish without plants for shade. So it was important they be replaced. A few days before the 4th our new pond lilies started to throw out a few buds.

BITS & PIECES
WATER IRIS
Another new addition was a fast growing water Iris and it naturally attracted honey bees.....
CANVAS 1260
Koi & Lilies 50x44 oil on linen (7-8-18 canvas 1260)
A custom sized closed-corner floater frame by JFM adds the final finishing touch. This floater frame will handle a 3/4" to 1" gallery wrap stretcher (normal is 1 1/2" wrap). I need flexibility to use either a floater or a normal 4 or 5" traditional gallery frame.
This is a new canvas size developed to maximize an 84" by 6 yard canvas roll. I get (4) 50x44s and (6) 32x32s. JFM also stretches my linen canvas.
