Freewheeling waves

Monday it snowed. The big flaky kind we might imagine snow should be. Actually it was a good time to clean up a couple of works done over the weekend during SIP.

DAYLIGHT MOON
Saturday 24x24 oil on linen (3-10-18 canvas1225)

CRASHING
Sunday 24x24 oil on linen (3-11-18 canvas 1226)

As a painter, the sea is a worthy subject to study, especially closeups like here. Perhaps inspired by Waugh is leading to a more detailed study of waves. The best way for me is continuing on with more "one-a-day" paintings like these through March. Laughingly, I'm going to have a sea of 24x24s by the time this year is over........pardon the pun!

We were originally only using the seashore as setting for atmosphere. However, discovering Waugh changed the SIP focus Sunday to waves.....a welcome change for the team and myself.
