LOGO Made in Canva
I held off jumping into my eCommerce adventure with WIX over the weekend. Yesterday, I was excited to get going Monday morning. I did watch a You Tube tutorial video several times over the weekend - looked easy enough.
By Monday, I was dumb as dirt! There are a lot of pieces to make it work and you need to know why. After a quick attempt at ADI to make my eCommerce store, I jumped ship in favor of understanding the back-of-house features that would make my store work.
It was not smooth. I had trouble learning how the platform worked. I spent 8 or 9 solid hours jumping around.... learning and completing tasks inside and outside of the WIX platform.
This was not the fault of the WIX platform. The business starts out as a concept, building your actual store turns it into a reality. AI can absolutely help you get through it. The reason the videos look easy, because it's organize and they know how to use the dashboard and all the tools, apps, a product and whatever.
Looking at it today a lot was accomplished.
- Logo designed
- Informational Video
- Basic site selected - no design work yet
- Domain connected
- Business premium plan (monthly) done
- Payments systems setup and live
- First wave of photo ready products ready to load on individual page with variants
- Product pricing established
- US shipping setup (international is live but has to set by country)
There is sales tax (app to automate) I'll leave to last.
Today I'll work on the site design and product description etc. The text I'll workout with using AI. I'll try it inside WIX because it will be programed to business.... I think!
My guess is I'll go live sometime tomorrow.
