SIP, Cyber Paint-along 1

I thought it would be fun this year to do a weekly cyber Paint-along for those not able to join us every Saturday & Sunday at Crossroads.

January, the SIP team will be exploring the twilight sun, and how atmosphere can affect the mood of a painting. The critical part of this weeks exercise is/was a clean sky and glowing sun. Our sun below is center stage where the setting is a supporting player, a moving target..... meaning it will be flexible and evolve with the painting.

My simple recipe to a good landscape painting is a sky, a sun, a few trees and a bit of water to reflect off. It can be a complicated or a simple approach. I'm opting for "simple"!

Moody,  the transition between night and day is more lyrical in nature and more often successful when its "soft and simple". Tonalist Wyant did this remarkably well so he's the inspiration for this little cyber paint-a-long.

TEAM RESULTS (end of day)
 (1192 Demo 1, 24x24)

 (1193 Demo 2, 16x20 linen pad)

Saturday we got a late start - nasty weather can do that! By Sunday we had a full team and a little more heat thanks to space heaters. The rest of the Crossroads complex didn't fare so well. Despite the weather we had a great week!

NOTE: Team work unrelated to the optional Paint-along is not represented.
