A weeks worth of paint and canvas

My time is my own for awhile; it's nice, it's nice having time to focus exclusively on a single painting. This week started off with #811 a 48x72 horizontal canvas - got some big fancy frames to fill..:=)

#811 Day one 48x72 oil on linen (4-15-13)

#811 Day two 48x72 oil on linen (4-16-13)

#811 Day three 48x72 oil on linen (4-17-13)

#811 Day four 48x72 oil on linen (4-18-13)

#811 Day five - frame test 48x72 oil on linen (4-19-13)

Yesterday I thought the painting was finished, but!!

PROBLEM

The yellow Koi needs punctuation and a stronger connection to the pair of Koi on my right - I didn't like the flow between this group of Koi. It was really a connection problem from day three to day four.

 SOLUTION

FINAL PAINTING

#811 Day six - 48x72 oil on linen (4-20-13)

SOME DETAILS

When one move is all you get!
My lotus is ready for the final punctuation

Bingo!

After each painting day I like to study my days work in fading light, then again early the following morning. Before long, in my experience, the possibilities subtly expose themselves and the days game is on. I also like when the game is done and I get to sign it. LOL...a bit like a good book or film, regardless of the time, you don't want to put it down until finished.....the creative process is the same....at least for me.

SOLD

#550 Venice - The merging of Light & Water 72x60 oil on linen (7-5-11)

Congratulations Richard Stravitz Fine Art Gallery!!
