Consumed by portaraits!

If you are a John Singer Sargent fan this guy is pretty good at showing you how to emulate the Portrait master. His name is John Howard Sanden link to his 2-part video on U-Tube painting Sargent's  "Lady Agnew portrait". Not a bad way to spend a little time if you want to improve or understand the wet-in-wet approach to intuitive painting. Never heard of him before! And I do not impress easily. Beyond this video know zero about him or his work. He is very much a one-stroke painter and explains it well. His canvas for this demonstration was 48x36, close to Sargent's original's size. Capturing the essence of any subject is really the key, not copying.

Lady Agnew by Sargent

This Sunday we have no sitter for SIP. In a pinch we can revert to a photo reference as base player.  Unless one shows up!
