Progressions 1 - Going with the flow!

I like how Progressions 1 developed - while it's based largely on my en plein air experiences - it's not plein air nor about plein air painting but about exploring and relying totally on my own senses about light and colour harmony. 

My goal established on Friday was to start filling in the gaps, refining and narrowing my colour transitions only using my 8x10 Alla prima paintings as a reference guide.

Over the weekend I continued on with my 8x10 Alla prima series - Saturday I painted 710, 711 and 712 and on Sunday 713 and 714.

I randomly picked this stage to start my painting day off

I'm happy with the result but wish I had stayed with my established  compositional format so it would relate better as a series.

I wasn't happy with my composition change in 712 from Saturday so I decided to do another version....besides I needed a colour change. Now I'm on target for this particular stage.....me happy!

Feeling charged but a bit tired of painting I stretched more 8x10s for Monday.

At the end of my painting day the progress is only getting sweeter!!
